enlargement camping Berga Mountain resort, the berguedà with pitches for mobile homes and caravans in the Catalan Pyrenees

The first phase of the expansion project at Berga Resort is entering the final straight!

Berga Resort will unveil the new areas for caravans and mobile homes (static caravans) during the latter half of April.

In this manner, we shall be inaugurating the first phase of the expansion programme at the tourist complex in Berga; which apart from the camping offers other services including: sports facilities, spa and Wellness Centre.

Although the works have over-run a little from the projected timeframe, we are proud to introduce the new face of Berga Resort, and be able to offer more plots and pitches than before… More than 200; some are 90 square metres and others will be 120 square metres, all with parking, cable TV, wireless internet and other services available at the resort (electrical connections, water supply, etc)

With the completion of the first phase in Spring 2013, the owner of Berga Resort, Joan Barniol explained to the local radio station, Radio Berga that the resort is on track to enter its second phase in the expansion programme. “The second phase will include 30 new wooden bungalows, of 50m2, split in to two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and the users will have access to a private social centre built for purpose.”
Further he explained, “The bungalows will be situated to the north part of the site at Berga Resort, in a car free area with specifically designed for safety and comfort of the whole family”.

Further in to the future, the third part of the project will commence, consisting of stone bungalows which will augment the traditional wooden bungalows of Berga Resort, of 40m2 with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room terrace and garage; also with a private social centre for this area of the resort.

Also, with the extension of the accommodation the site, there will be a new services building constructed, as well as extensions to the main buildings, the summer swimming pools, the sports areas and the children’s areas.

The expansion programme of Berga Resort is not an insignificant undertaking, as Joan Barniol explained, “For many years this project has been planned, has been dreamed of and now it is finally coming true. Despite the current economic downturn, the planned investment here at Berga Resort is a minimum of 10,000,000€“.

Further details of the works will be released in the near future; including the new Bio-mass heating system, which will replace five conventional boiler systems to provide hot water around the site and heat the swimming pools, which according to Joan Barniol will be a more energy efficient and environmentally friendly system; as is also the rainwater collection system for maintaining irrigation to the green areas of the facility
